I believe the spoken word is the first step towards healing.
Pastoral counsellors, mental health professionals, psychologists… Each of them brings something different — it is worth reading their introductions.
I believe the spoken word is the first step towards healing.
I believe that every consultation process is unique - just as we all are.
I believe that there is hope in every life situation—and we can find it together.
As a helper, I become a fellow traveller, so that together we can search for and find professional and spiritual answers.
"In vain you bathe your own face in your self, it can only be washed in that of others." /Attila József/
"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference." Reinhold Niebuhr
I'm András Dobribán, a psychologist working with a neuroaffirmative approach. At the beginning of my career, I worked in finance as an economist. However, as I found less and less fulfillment in the business world, my long-standing interest in psychology—along with conversations with a psychologist—guided me toward a new calling. I earned my degree in psychology with a specialization in clinical and health psychology, and I am currently in family therapy training. I participate in adult ADHD assessments and conduct individual psychological consultations. My primary area of interest is neurodivergence, particularly ADHD and autism, both of which I have personal experience with. As part of raising awareness about ADHD, I host discussions on the podcast *ADHD kalauz* (ADHD Guide). I support clients dealing with anxiety, depressive symptoms, emotion regulation and self-esteem challenges, as well as life transitions or obstacles. In my practice, I strive to foster self-awareness, self-acceptance, and personal strengths, relying on both my professional expertise and lived experience.
I am a psychologist and a legal economist. I consult clients individually on challenges and problems of adult life, and I have been leading self-awareness groups for years. My work as a psychologist is grounded on the principles and methods of existential psychology.
I am Dóra, psychologist (MA), grief counselor, mindfulness teacher, and CBT consultant in training. In my work with clients, I place high importance on self-compassion, mindfulness, discovering our strengths and resources, and self-care—which all are parts of learning how to treat ourselves with more understanding and acceptance. My work is guided by the core principles of mindfulness: openness, non-judgment, patience, trust, and gratitude. I believe that the goal isn't always to immediately change what is difficult, but to learn to relate to it in a new, more supportive way. I like to compare the role of a psychologist to that of a cheerleader who won't win the game for you, or take the next step instead of you—but who believes in you whole-heartedly every step of the way, and who is right there when you need them.
If you feel you would like to connect more deeply with yourself, understand what is happening inside you, or simply need a supportive, non-judgmental space, I look forward to welcoming you.
My name is Liza Vank, I am a pastoral counselor and healthcare professional. I am 48 years old and a mother of three. Having worked in healthcare for over twenty years, I have firsthand experience with the emotional impact of illness, vulnerability, loss, and stressful life situations.
I earned my BSc and MSc degrees in Nursing at Semmelweis University, and completed my pastoral counseling studies at Sola Scriptura Theological College. I am currently a graduating student in the specialized legal training program for healthcare professionals at the Faculty of Law, Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE).
In my counseling work, I am motivated by creating a safe, accepting space for those who are facing difficult life situations, feel stuck, experience loss, or who simply wish to speak with someone openly. I feel a deep calling toward supporting neurodivergent individuals and their families, and to guide people through the emotional challenges associated with health conditions, illness, and major life transitions.
I place great importance on non-judgment, honesty, and allowing everyone to be present in their own story at their own pace. As a pastoral counselor, my goal is not to offer ready-made answers, but rather to walk with you to find your path to strength, hope, and inner resilience.
I graduated as a theology teacher from the Faculty of Theology at Pázmány Péter Catholic University. Following that, I completed the pastoral counseling program at Sola Scriptura College, and later earned a degree in meaning-centered personality development at Apor Vilmos Catholic College, training as a counselor based on the principles of Viktor Frankl's logotherapy. In addition, I have completed training in assertive communication. Over the years, I have walked my own personal self-awareness journey—including through coaching—as I strongly believe that we can only effectively help others once we have processed and come to terms with our own story.
For two decades, I served as a local volunteer for a national charitable organization, where I witnessed and walked alongside many people facing difficult life circumstances.
Through personal experience, I have also known the Hungarian healthcare system from the inside for twenty years, during which I have been able to support many peers sharing similar struggles.
I primarily offer support to individuals living with acute or chronic illnesses, as well as those navigating relationship or workplace problems, boundary-setting challenges, self-awareness obstacles, and self-image issues. For Christina believers, I also offer guidance on Christian spiritual questions and their image of God, as these are areas where I can bring personal experience and my personal answers alongside my theoretical knowledge. My approach combines the foundations of logotherapy with Carl Rogers' accepting, supportive, and non-judgmental stance, grounded in a Christian worldview.
My life is guided above all by the spirit and momentum of two thoughts: a line from the poet Attila József, "In vain you bathe in yourself, it can only be washed in that of others," and a passage from the Bible, the Book of Isaiah: "The Lord God has given me the tongue of a teacher, that I may know how to sustain the weary with a word." Alongside Bible-based pastoral counseling, I lead a Bible study group at Lehel Square; my full-time job is as an archivist, and by training, I am a history and ethics teacher in addition to teaching theology.
If you are facing life questions, navigating loss, struggling with relationship or romantic difficulties, standing before a major decision, dealing with conflict or challenges around forgiveness, feeling spiritually stuck, grappling with questions about your faith, or simply need someone to listen attentively in an honest conversation, feel free to reach out to me. In the field of pastoral counseling, I consider myself a fellow seeker. I am also deeply interested in art and movement therapy. In my free time, I enjoy writing; my sixth book, entitled Summapolis, is a collection of short sci-fi stories. Last but not least, following Frigyes Karinthy, I firmly believe and practice that when it comes to humor, I take no jokes!
I am István Szabó. I work in adult education and earned my qualification in mental health counseling in 2022. I consider good human relationships to be a vital resource. Everyone needs attention, acceptance, and positive reinforcement. Sometimes, it is enough to have someone listen to us and be present with us, without trying to tell what to do. I strive to be that kind of person for others, while continuing to learn, grow, and connect as a person and a professional.
Silence, self-reflection, and community are very important to me.
What I have learnt: it is enough to sit beside someone and not to hurry.
As a qualified helper I take part in regular supervision. In our conversations there is no hurry and no judgement: we talk about as much as you want to share.
From two conversations a month, with supervision and a case discussion group. These are the fields we are looking for:
Crisis, grief, relationships: the backbone of the conversations.
Prevention, stress management, burnout, workplace strain.
Where it is not one person who arrives, but a relationship.
Longer support after loss and bereavement.
Someone who helps our helpers put down the weight.
For consultation, professional questions and referrals.
