Representing the association and supporter relations.
As an association we work so that anyone can sit down with a qualified helper. The conversations are kept going by our supporters’ contributions.
I was not given advice. Someone finally heard me out.
Most people who come to us are not looking for hospital treatment but for someone who gives them time. A conversation with no hurry, no judgement, and no need to explain why it hurts.
This space is held by qualified helpers who receive regular supervision themselves. We do not promise quick solutions. What we do promise is that we will hear you out, and if you need something else, we will walk with you to it.
So that none of this is a question of money, part of the conversations are funded by our supporters. That is why we say a monthly contribution is not charity but keeping a free seat open.
What you say in a conversation stays there. Every one of our helpers is bound by confidentiality.
Money must never be a barrier. Our supporters’ contributions make it possible for people to reach us.
We work with qualified helpers who receive regular supervision and further training.
We do not ask how you got here. There is no right or wrong story, only yours.
A realisation was born from a conversation between a business leader and a professional leader: many people cannot access supportive processes for financial reasons. We felt we could help with that.
The first regular conversations started in Vác and Budapest, with volunteer professionals and in the rooms of local communities.
We launched our own supervision programme, so that helpers receive support too.
Our first partnerships with other civil society organisations began, through which we can also have a significant impact at the level of society.
This year, we are already present in several locations across the country, and we aim to offer every applicant an appointment within one week.
Three years have proven that our original idea was not only right, but also revealed something we had never fully anticipated: more people need support than we ever imagined. To meet this growing need, we have begun building a broader community of supporters.
The vast majority of contributions goes directly to conversations and to the supervision of our helpers.

Our teamThe association is led by a board of three: representation, professional direction and day-to-day operations each have their own person in charge.

My entire life has been accompanied by the realization that self-awareness work makes life freer and more complete.
After my first liberating experiences 16 years ago, many years of painful and grueling emotional inner work followed, filled with countless realizations and "aha!" moments. I overcame an addiction and reopened old emotional wounds so they could finally heal. Through all of this, I was motivated by the desire that one day I would have my own loving family—which has become a reality since. Along the way, wanting to understand the society I live in and the broader context of the world, I earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and a Master's degree in History. I met countless helpers and people who propelled me forward on my journey.
Then, as I dug deeper over the years, I discovered a longing for faith—a calling. Four years ago, as an adult, I entered the catechumenate and received baptism. That is how doubt transformed into faith, hope, love, trust, and compassion.
I strive to build on this experience in my daily life within my family, in our family business, and in my personal relationships. It is also what motivates me to work within the Association: to help create opportunities for a better, happier life for other people.
I am Ádám Cseh: a father, a husband, a CEO, a history enthusiast, a dedicated advocate for social responsibility, and—truth be told—still a bit of a coffee and gastro addict.
As head of professional affairs I am responsible for our professional direction: supervision, the case discussion groups and the preparation of new helpers.
If you have a professional question or would like to join as a helper, get in touch with me.
With a background in special education and the humanities, I worked for years in the non-profit sector as a planner, organizer, and coordinator of practical affairs. Volunteering for social causes has been a constant part of all my life so far. I bring all these experiences into my work at our Association. If you have questions about how we work, I am the one to contact.
The Csodalámpa Foundation makes the wishes of seriously ill children come true, and we help make sure that their families are not left alone in the meantime. As part of our partnership, we support the parents, siblings and relatives of sick children with supportive conversations. We offer a safe, accepting space where they can voice their fears, share their burdens and gather strength for everyday life. We believe that strengthening the family standing by the child is just as important as the path to recovery itself.
Together with the Szív Kör Association and the Foundation for Children with Heart Disease, we stand by the families of children with heart conditions. We support parents, siblings and relatives with supportive conversations, so that they do not have to carry the fears and burdens of the illness alone. Our partnership also extends to the nurses who stand by the children’s bedsides day after day and who also need to be listened to and strengthened. We believe that a child receives the most when the family around them and the professionals caring for them are supported too.
We are glad to work with foundations, associations and institutions that are looking for support for the people they help or for their own staff.
